Virginia Farmland Rental Rates

Gate Virginia farm rental rates are dependent on soil quality and moisture content in addition to local farmer demand.  The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) each year compiles an average rental rate for each county.  The numbers below indicate the dollar per acre per year ($/ac/yr).  The 2014 rates for the counties surrounding Charlottesville are as follows:
